Pahala is a gateway to Volcanoes National Park, a 12 mile drive to the park's southern entrance. It is 5 minutes from the black sand turtle beach at Punalu1u where you can snorkel among sea turtles. It is 6 minutes from Wood Valley with its Buddhist temple, macadamia, coffee, vegetable and flower farms.

Other Information

Village has library, post office, bank, store, workout center, swimming pool - all open to guests. Town is great for walking. There are many large trees, many of them unusual specimen treets. Trails around the town are great for biking.

Directions

Travel on Hwy 11 51 miles from HIlo International Airport, take right into Pahala, turn left on Pikake and left into driveway before corner of Pikake and Huapala.
